156 Rejoice and commend to mind the mother of the cities of Rus’, * the metropolis foreseen by the first called of the apostles.
Kyiv the cradle of Christendom’s patriarchal ormophorea (pallium protection) is usurped by its prostituting daughter * Moscow bribing Istanbul with a haughty “bling” (gaudy show) of furs and gold. (1588).
157 Rejoice realizing the first Rome administers through law, the second Rome through philosophical discourse, * while the third Rome advocates by derisived agendas,
While the churches of Scythia immerses themselves in aesthetic love * for the ceremonial experiences of beloved devotions, reflecting their true glory (“provaslany”).
158 Rejoice as we commend our evangelical heroes of European Christendom by discerning their apprenticeship under Saint Photius. * Saints Cyril and Methodius the apostles of the Slavs are recognized by most as patron saints of Europe.
Surprisingly spurned by some for being innovative missionaries, endorsing the primacy of Rome before Constantinople. * The orthodoxy of their work is speculatively dismissed by haughty Hellenists (869).
159 Rejoice realizing Saints Cyril and Methodius in their evangelical missions put Christianity first. * None of the Romes today recognize any cross ritual movements.
With Islam encroaching Christian lands we can no longer afford to placate the intelligencea and royals. We need to include all baptized, * communicate between all churches, acknowledge everyone’s orthodoxy rather than dwelling on heterodoxy, which is often miscommunication.
160 Rejoice for the scriptures of Saints Cyril and Methodius’ are begotten from the found Slavonic translation * of Saint Jerome who hails from the Croatian – Slovenian borderlands. (Hebrew / Greek into vernacular into Vulgate / Latin)
The Vulgate based on the Alexandrian Greek text which also begot the Textus Receptus by Erasmus * which begot the Syrian Major and Greco Catholic and Waldensian and Gallic and Celtic and King James versions. (382, 869, 1515, 1611)
161 Rejoice commending the holy martyr Father Jan Hus * promoter of the use of the people’s own vernacular,
Not for self interpretation but for clarity of self understanding * because “we are what we pray”.
162 Rejoice in the conviction of the sacrificial lamb Father Jan Hus * who calls for the return of the holy chalice to the people of God.
On scriptural foundations not theological principals. * So noted from his bishop’s complaint of insubordination not heterodoxy (1412).
163 Rejoice with insight as Reverend Father Jan Hus calls for both platonic monastics * and wedded clergy in order to curb celibate abuses through monastic or domestic discipline.
Abstainse is not itself a virtue but the groundwork for virtue. * Indulgence donations used to finance raised swords in the name of Chris is an abomination beyond heresy.
164 Rejoice in memoriam to the church reformer from within * Father Jan Reverend Hus unlike the Hussite reformationist Procopius (1434).
Righteous as Reverend Jan Hus and (English) Saint Thomas More were men standing fast * for principals who only swung to the political winds as corpses (1415).
165 Rejoice realizing that through a study of Father Jan Hus * the Reverend Martin Luther received a glimpse of the Christian eara.
****** President George Washington sliped into Saint Mary’s Pro-Cathedral of Philadelphia for for Mass and Te Deum for a festal observance with John Adams. He is quoted in saying to the president afterwords “Here is everything we can which can lay hold of the eye, ear and imagionation – everything which can charm and bewitch the simple and the ignorant. I wonder how Luther broke the spell”.*********
He identified the eastern church as “the better half, … * where the faithful are called to be as a little Christ” (1517).
166 Rejoice in harmony with Reverends John Wesley and John Mason Neale and others * who exposed the eastern rites through elegant translations fêted with their gift of music to their western world.
Alongside their approach to God’s personalized sanctification of humanity * their inspired hymns are but another’s expressions of orthodoxy (1875).
167 Rejoice commencing with the treasured words Saint Clement of Alexandra mused * “God became man so man could become godly”,
Such emulation as with art starts by drawing a line, as did the Friends and other western reformationists * which lead to the eradication of slavery from Christendom.
168 Rejoice in exaltation for slavery is abolished in America (1777-1865), and Canada * (1793), from Austro Hungary (1848), Moldova (1855), and in Russia (1861) with the emancipation of the serfs.
Alas within the old Soviet block cries of anguish linger due to the blind eye * to human trafficking in our day. Forgive us O long suffering Lord.
169 Rejoice realizing the religion freedom of the New World * stifles the exclusivity between diverse émigrés and churches.
Inclusivity leads to welcomed interest between old ways * rejuvenate when open to the local ways amalgamating Orthodoxy.
170 Rejoice in the wisdom that as an established parish’s light wavers * all the members must be open to replacing it with a new light source.
A shift from cradle apathy to new transcendent zeal is uplifting * unless it is crushed by a steadfast envious control.
171 Rejoice with resolve that current scriptural translations * are secure in our time for our tongue.
May we expand translational works to other Traditions as the holy fathers, * interpreted especially in the tongues of our time especially for the west.
172 Rejoice despite self-indulgent masters who thirst for faded glories of extinct empires. * May their thirst be quenched by a cohesive elixir as in the integration of the Christian first millennium.
In Christendom all are as lost sheep (children) looking to me * for God’s love, assurance and direction is extended to all even non-Christian.
173 Rejoice as we contemplate the sanguine prophecy * so pondered on his deathbed by the shepherd Andrew of Lviv,
“Our church will resurrect in ways we can not now even dream of” * assured the blessed Metropolitan Andryj (Sheptytsky 1946).
174 Rejoice as we ask God if He would favor a communion of the three presiding Roman patriarchates * where Tradition is not submitted to the jealousy of arrogant oligarchs.
In reparation ordaining the ancient Kyivan apostolic patriarchate sui juris * under the immovable wall’s azure and golden all holy Oranta Patroness.
175 Rejoice in the conviction as old world will finally blossom with sister churches of the old and new rituals * as accessible at the time of our father patrons Saints Cyril and Methodius.
Meanwhile may the new world heal with a new alliance linking the old and new and schismatic * amalgamate into the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Christian church of the orthodox faith. (40% US Orthodoxy are converts from Protestants Evangelicals)
