XII WE ARE AS WE PRAY… 201-220 (1950)
MEDITATION 12

(CHANTER:)
His life is illustrated in the heavens, as the apex of the great “I AM”.

In the diffused solstice sky His nova emerges, guiding us to the King’s city.

Angels announce His nativity with song, and likewise our incarnation. *

His calling emerges like the ever rising sun, over the waters of the Jordan.

Seemingly terminated under Jerusalem’s equinox sky as a solar eclipse. Throughout the cosmos eternal life resurrects, as life eclipses death. *

His illumination is mirrored in Hades, like the sun in the moon’s fullness.

All comes with the Third into a zenith, as earth vests into emerald robes.

The Triad reigns in the quintessence of the Solitaire, for eons of eparchs.

CHANT 12

(CLERGY:)

Attention! A reading from Ephesians:

(ALL:)
+ Glory be to You O Lord glory be to You
Alleluia, alleluia!
(CLERGY:)
“Those who lived in illusion’s darknes, now as Christians are inlightened. Living as people who are at home in the light. Where there is light goodness pervails bearing justice and truth. Discern what is pleasing to the Lord; cultivating them not in shadow, rather exhibiting them in light. That which is secretive is shameful even in whispers. That which is bathed in light is illuminated by light, emulating as a beacon. As we sing “Sleeper awake! Rise from terminal repose. The light of Christ illuminates, shining from within.” Conduct yourself carefully; sensibly not as simpletons.” (Ephesians 5:8-15)

(ALL:)
+ Glory be to You Our God glory be to You
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
(THOSE FATIGUED MAY SIT)
(ALL:)
201 Rejoice as we intertwine His biography in our lives, as He in turn reflects on ours so that we may call upon Him for understanding. * Grandfather Priest Joachim and Grandmother Anna begets a linage from King David through their daughter Blessed Mary immaculate as we all start (December 9 os 22).

Gardening and husbandry are not inappropriate even on Saint Mary’s birthday as nature was not altered. * The embryonic protection was metaphysically extended against the evil one’s snare (September 8 os 21).

202 Rejoice as elderly parents took their three year old Virgin Mary to their temple’s school where she could be safely bordered (November 21 os Dec. 3). * Here the widower Saint Joseph came looking for a maiden caregiver for his sons and daughters.

For here the archangel Gabriel also came looking to ask “Will you?” to which the Virgin Mary asked “How?”. * This day the Creator altered nature so a chased maiden could conceive God by God, in respect of this we avoid gardening and husbandry (March 25 os April 7).

203 Rejoice as the visiting Blessed Mary consults with cousin Saint Elizabeth who by the Priest Zechariah naturally conceive in advanced age. * The Forerunner was previously conceived in the Autumn’s Equinox shadow (September 23 os Oct 5 Luck 1:7).

Saint John leaped for joy in his mother’s womb meeting his cousin Jesus who he precedes by half a year. * As Saint John’s wort blooms at the mid-summer solstices many make a leap of faith through fire, air and water on the eve of the Baptist’s birth (June 24 os 17, Luke 1:36, Qur’an Surah 19:7-15).

204 Rejoice as Blessed Mary confides; “My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; * He has looked with favor on His lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed; (Luck 1 : 46)

This longest of nights is the yin to the yang of the shortest whose Nativity vigil we keep as a vegan feast. * Illuminated by a bread candleholder a dozen entrees are set upon a bed of hay while maintaining an awaiting guest’s seat. (December 24)

205 Rejoice with carols as the brief rising sun glisten off the gossamer spider webs in the cave entertaining the baby Jesus enthroned in a manger of hay. * “BOH PREDVECHNY” (“God Eternal…”) is the alpha and omega of our hymns at every service of glorification this time of year.

“Khrystos rozdayetcha” (Christ is born) is the greeting amongst family, friends and fellow Christians as the carol of the bells peel. * “Slaveto Yeho” (Glory be He) is the customary reply whether in enthusiasm, as cordiality or accompanying sympathetic response (December 25 os January 7 – 5 os 18).

206 Rejoice while civil society starting anew and as did our precursor Saint Nicholas so to Bishop Basil’s gives gifts, * but as is customary amongst Semites to divert one’s focus from the spilling of the first blood (January 1 os 14).

Celebrate whether for gentile Magi adoration, a maternal induced premature miracle or Trinitarian revelation * His manifestation is only out shined by His glorious resurrection (January 6 os 19).

207 Rejoice as the baptism in Jordan’s waters is ushered in with a feast of strictly earthly vegetarian bounty including new waters (January 5 os 18). * In apostolic precedence this is the elder feast before that rivaling the Roman sun-god’s birthday with the true Son of God’s birthday.

At the local run, creek, river, lake, sea or ocean the waters are sanctified as Christ is baptized. In our Jordan through breath, touch and fire the Spirit descends upon the waters as the cross enters. * All the week laundry is suspended so we will drink, cook, and cleanse ourselves while our homes are visited with blessings by the new waters.

208 Rejoice lighting blessed candles as the burnt offering of the old temple especially when the lord Yur bolts from the sky. * When Jesus was brought for dedication the priest Simeon declared “Dismiss your servant in peace, O God for my eyes have seen Your salvation… the light” (February 2 os 15 Luck 2:22).

The Transfiguration of the Light on Mount Tabor awed the rock, the beloved and the brother of Jesus. * As apples, grapes, nectarines and any first fruits are now blessed with our enjoyment (August 6 os 19 Matt 17:1-9, Mark 9:1-8, Luck 9:28-36).

209 Rejoice although Saint John is now silenced as a lamb rather than the roaring lion in the desert so Herodias can maintain her incestuous controls * between her and her husband’s brother and her daughter his niece (August 29 os Sept. 11).

Grandfather Herod could not stop the innocent Christ so three decades later the bold Forerunner is beheaded onto a silver platter. * A vegan feast is maintained using neither platters nor knives or any heads of any food animal nor vegetable. (Luck 3:19, Matt 14:3-12).

210 Rejoice, though Jesus wept. He resuscitates His friend after a three day mortality. * After raising Lazarus Christ is paraded on a white colt being hailed king amongst wagging tongues of psalms.

Our domestic (home) church in the upcoming week draws from the meditations of the magisterial church, * so we tap each other with catkins asking with wagging tongues “Who?”, a reminder of upcoming inhumanity.

211 Rejoice embracing life in meditation, Monday and Tuesday is business as usual buying herbs and spices as if for an embalming. * Wednesday Judas sells his friend securing his hellfire so we avoided trading in silver yet indulge prepare our ovens.

Thursday Christ washed His ordained Apostle’s feet so we too as the royal priesthood bath and tonsure our hair. * After the Eucharistic institution we visit neighboring sanctuaries in vigil as ours chant the passion story in 12 (twelve) episodes.

212 Rejoice as Friday wakes quietly with the aroma of bread baking as our garments are put into ordered and cards are played, for the executioners did the same. * In somber attire with upbraided tresses we attend the twilight funeral of God publicly processing ourselves thrice in mournful awe.

For 40 (forty) hours we wonder in a melancholy like the children of Israel wondered the desert for 40 (forty) years. * As children we approach to kiss the wounds of Christ in the icons of our sanctuaries and also those of our separated brethren’s or on the crucifix statuary in neighbor’s churches.

213 Rejoice as we don fedoras or scarf heads in wigs to sit Sabbath with His mournful Mother. * Her teardrops washing the color from her enhanced bribe of eggs that never reached the pilot.

The eggs in the Syrenean’s grocery-basket were transformed covered with multicolored mazes and motifs while he carried His cross. * Salome’s executioner’s egg bribes were discarded in the puddle at the foot of the cross where these bloodstained shells are scratched by rocks during the quake.

214 Rejoice as the Magdalene packs aromatic embalming aloes and a basket of breakfast eggs which blushes when the aura of the risen Lord illuminated them. * We too bring our breakfast to the tomb to receive His Paschal blessing.

Some pack an entire Sadder meal while others only their favorites as the importance is being prepared not the selection. * Blessed nothing is wasted, everything is eaten, or buried as compost, or ignited for heat or floats upon flowing waters to herald those downstream.

215 Our Tsar’s doors are open wide for everyone to hear “In the beginning” in many tongues. * “Khystos Anesty! Anatol Anesty! Khrystos Voskrese! Voistinue Voskrese! Christ is Risen! Truly Risen!” We may now rest and relax for all work is shunned.

Bright Monday the girls are re-baptized and Tuesday they retaliate * for what is good for the goose is likewise good for the gander.

216 Rejoice on Ascension Thursday for God is in His heaven and all is right with the world.* our simple greeting returns “Slava Esusu Khrysty” (Glory be Jesus Christ) responding with “Slava navyky” (Glory be always).

On Pentecost Blessed Mary decorates with greens as the Apostles hid, so we do too. * Crouching on our knees we wait for the Heavenly King to come like a gust of wind lifting us up to new heights.

217 Rejoice even realizing Blessed Mary body is dead, let us gather flowers to honor her mortal remains for viewing. * After her funeral doubting Thomas the procrastinator arrives wishing to view her holy relics.

Opening the sepulcher only her belt and claret dress remained filled with medicinal herbs and plants. * Chemically speaking matter can be neither created nor destroyed, so as her Son takes her body with her soul home, metaphysically healing herbs reinstate her assumed body.

218 The holy cross was retrieved from a smoldering garbage dump amongst basil-weed by the Empress Helena. * We serve the wood on a tray of gold amidst fragrant flora and burning tapers as a focal point for our mantra with prostrations. (September 14 os 27)

The high priestess Mary our mother raises her protective ormaphoria over her besieged children. Again and again she is our oasis * with visionary apparitions at Fatima (1917), Hlyniany (1938 & 1962), Istanbul (860), Lourdes (1858), Medjugorje (1981), Montichiari (1947), Mount Yavir (Hora Jawir), Zeitun (1968) and especially our Pochayiv (1250 & 1675). (October 1)

219 Rejoice realizing these are but aids for your enrichment not practices for your salvation. * Salvation is manifested by putting their lesions into practice not by the lesions themselves.

As far as the disciplines it is not what goes into your mouth * but rather what comes from your mouth that will determine your salvation.

220 Rejoice for all is not recorded in the Scripture nor is it all here. * God’s love in infinite as are the ways we have to celebrate it.

As the golden tongued preacher invites us to Pascha let us remember Christ is open to us everyday. * For the Lord graciously welcomes those late as the early…, the lazy as the conscientious…, the rich as the poor…, let no one lament…, let all envelop in the goodness of the Lord.
